2024 T20 World Cup Showdown Between India and Pakistan Set to Take Place in New York

The upcoming grand event will astonish and bring happiness to the millions of expatriates living in the United States. On December 20, the International Cricket Council announced that India would take on Pakistan at a pop-up stadium in New York in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.

This news will bring joy to the millions of cricket fans from the subcontinent who have moved to the US and have never had the opportunity to watch this marquee encounter. The India-Pakistan derby is one of the most contested in the world. It involves players, spectators, pundits, experts from both countries and more.

The ICC had made headlines by announcing that the 2024 T20 World Cup would take place in the US and the West Indies. At the same time, changes to the schedule are possible. Yet, the old-time rivals England and Australia should play all their games in the Caribbean.

England are expected to play their games in St Lucia, Antigua, and Barbados. These destinations attract millions of English tourists every year. Their bitter rivals, Australia, will travel to Guyana, Trinidad, and St Vincent to play their games.

The United States confirmed they will use three venues: Central Broward Park in Florida, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, and Eisenhower Park on Long Island, about 25 miles from downtown Manhattan. The last is where India are going to take on Pakistan in their much-awaited clash.

A 34,000-seater stadium will be constructed for the upcoming games. It will tap into the hundreds of thousands of people of Indian and Pakistani origin who live in New York. The ICC inspectors have been travelling extensively across the Caribbean. Sources claim that the Barbados venue may be completed for the final.

The Kensington Oval in Barbados hosted the 2007 ODI and the 2010 T20 World Cup finals. The broadcasters will also try to arrange India's games in the morning. The purpose is to negate the ten-and-a-half-hour time difference between the subcontinent and the East Coast.
