The 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in India will be an exhilarating event with the release of the fixtures list and the announcement of the ten venues that will host the mega tournament. Spanning 46 days, the World Cup will kick off on October 5 with a highly anticipated clash between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The host nation, India, will begin their campaign on October 8 against Australia, a team that has won the World Cup on five occasions. The match will take place in Chennai, adding to the excitement of the tournament.

A total of 10 teams will participate in the World Cup. The first eight already secured their spots through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The remaining two spots will be determined at the end of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe. It will conclude on July 9.

In the tournament's format, each team will face off against the other nine in a round-robin style. The top four teams advance to the knockout stage and the semi-finals. This setup ensures a fair and competitive environment where every squad can show its skills and winning spirits.

While the opening encounter and India's clash with Australia are key fixtures, the tournament offers other crucial matches. One of the most highly anticipated clashes is the India-Pakistan encounter, scheduled for Sunday, October 15, in Ahmedabad. Other notable fixtures include Pakistan's face-off against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20, and England's clash against South Africa in Mumbai on October 21. Finally, India will seek redemption against New Zealand on October 22 in Dharamsala. They suffered a heartbreaking defeat at the same venue in the 2019 semi-final.

As the tournament progresses, the excitement intensifies with key matches, such as India versus England in Lucknow on October 29. The game is a chance for India to avenge their loss in the semi-final of the 2022 T20 World Cup. The final group stage match will see England take on Pakistan in Kolkata on November 12.

The knockout stages will be even more thrilling encounters. The first semi-final is scheduled for November 15 in Mumbai. The second one will be on the following day in Kolkata. Both semi-finals will have a reserve weather day. The grand final will take place at the magnificent Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19. A reserve day for it is November 20.

All matches will be day-night affairs throughout the knockout stages, commencing at 14:00 local time.

The tournament will be held at ten venues in India: Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, alongside Hyderabad, will host the warm-up matches from September 29 to October 3.
